Mark Haddon (born 26 September 1962) is an English novelist, poet, playwright and illustrator. He is best known for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2003), which won multiple awards and brought him international recognition. Haddon has written extensively for both children and adults, producing novels, short stories, poetry and scripts for radio and television. He has worked as an illustrator and cartoonist and has taught creative writing; his later work includes short-story collections and novels such as The Porpoise and The Red House.
