Berta Hoerner Hader and Elmer Stanley Hader
Berta Hoerner Hader (August 1, 1890/1891 – February 6, 1976) and Elmer Stanley Hader (September 7, 1889 – September 7, 1973) were an American husband-and-wife team who wrote and illustrated more than 70 children's books across the first half of the 20th century. They are best known for their richly illustrated picture books about animals and nature and for winning the Caldecott Medal for their illustrations in The Big Snow (1948).
