Guillermo del Toro
Guillermo del Toro Gómez (born October 9, 1964) is a Mexican filmmaker, author, and artist known for blending horror, fantasy and fairy-tale elements with emotional and thematic complexity. He began making short films as a child, worked for years in special-effects makeup, and rose to international prominence as the director of films such as Cronos, Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, and The Shape of Water. Del Toro is also a New York Times bestselling novelist (co-author of The Strain trilogy) and has been honored with multiple Academy Awards, BAFTAs, and Golden Globes.
