Edward Osborne Wilson (1929–2021) was a renowned American biologist, naturalist, ecologist, and entomologist, widely considered the world's leading authority on ants and the 'father of sociobiology.' A two-time Pulitzer Prize winner for his non-fiction work, he was a long-time professor at Harvard University and a prolific author of both scientific texts and literature.
