Madeleine L'Engle (born Madeleine L'Engle Camp) was an American writer of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and young-adult literature, best known for A Wrinkle in Time and its sequels. Her work often blends science, faith, and family themes; she published more than 60 books across adult and juvenile categories and won the Newbery Medal in 1963.
