Robert Jordan
Robert Jordan was the pen name of James Oliver Rigney Jr., an American author best known for his epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time. Before his career as a novelist, he served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner and worked as a nuclear engineer for the U.S. Navy. He began writing in 1977 and published works under several pseudonyms, including Reagan O'Neal and Jackson O'Reilly, before achieving widespread fame with The Wheel of Time.
