Valerio Massimo Manfredi

Valerio Massimo Manfredi is an Italian historian, writer, essayist, archaeologist, and journalist. He was born on March 8, 1943, in Piumazzo di Castelfranco Emilia, province of Modena, Italy. After earning a degree in Classical Arts from the University of Bologna, he specialized in the topography of the Ancient World at the Catholic University of Milan. He has taught at various universities, including the Catholic University of Milan, the University of Venice, Loyola University of Chicago, Sorbonne University in Paris, and Bocconi University in Milan. Manfredi has led numerous archaeological expeditions in Italy and abroad. His novels, often historical fiction, have been translated into many languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. Several of his works, including the "Alexander" trilogy and "The Last Legion," have been adapted for film and television.
