David Benioff (born David Friedman) is an American novelist, screenwriter, and producer. He is widely recognized for co-creating and showrunning the HBO series Game of Thrones. Before his success in television, he established himself as a novelist with works such as The 25th Hour and City of Thieves, and as a screenwriter for films including Troy, The Kite Runner, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
