Richard Yates

Richard Walden Yates was an American novelist and short-story writer, often identified with the mid-century 'Age of Anxiety.' His work, which frequently explored themes of sadness, disillusionment, and the lives of average Americans, gained significant posthumous recognition. His debut novel, Revolutionary Road (1961), was a finalist for the National Book Award and is considered a masterpiece of realistic fiction.
