Jean Kwok
Jean Kwok is an award-winning, New York Times and international bestselling author. Born in Hong Kong, she emigrated to Brooklyn, New York, at the age of five. She worked in a Chinatown clothing factory for much of her childhood before attending Harvard University and earning an MFA in fiction from Columbia University. Her novels, including 'Girl in Translation', 'Mambo in Chinatown', 'Searching for Sylvie Lee', and 'The Leftover Woman', often explore themes of the immigrant experience, identity, and family. She is trilingual, fluent in English, Chinese, and Dutch.
