Walter Tevis

Walter Stone Tevis Jr. (1928–1984) was an American novelist and short story writer known for his influential works in literary fiction and science fiction. His novels, including 'The Hustler', 'The Man Who Fell to Earth', and 'The Queen's Gambit', have been widely adapted into major films and television series. Tevis also had a distinguished career as an English literature and creative writing professor at Ohio University.
