Karen Marie Connelly is a Canadian writer, poet, editor, and psychotherapist. Known for her fearless political activism, her work often explores themes of travel, cultural estrangement, language, and human rights, drawing on her experiences living in Thailand, Greece, Spain, France, and Myanmar. She is the author of eleven books of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, including the acclaimed novel The Lizard Cage.
