Christopher Hibbert (born Arthur Raymond Hibbert) was a prolific and widely-read English popular historian and biographer. Known for his accessible, narrative-driven style, he wrote over 60 books on topics ranging from the Napoleonic Wars and the French Revolution to the lives of historical figures such as George IV, Mussolini, and the Medici family. He served as an infantry officer in the London Irish Rifles during World War II, earning the Military Cross, and was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
