Margret and H.A. Rey were a German-born American husband-and-wife team best known for creating the beloved children's book character Curious George. They met in Hamburg, Germany, and later reunited in Brazil, where they married. They moved to Paris and began their collaboration on children's books. Fleeing the Nazi invasion of France, they eventually settled in the United States. While H.A. Rey was primarily the illustrator and Margret the writer, they both contributed to the development of their stories and characters. Their work has been translated into numerous languages and adapted for various media.
