Harry Louis Bernstein was a British-born American writer who gained significant recognition late in life for his memoirs. His first published book, 'The Invisible Wall: A Love Story That Broke Barriers,' was released when he was 96 and detailed his childhood experiences with anti-Semitism and poverty in a mill town in England. He began writing at age 93, prompted by the loneliness he experienced after the death of his wife, Ruby, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. His subsequent books, 'The Dream' and 'The Golden Willow,' continued to explore his family's life, their move to America, and his later years. Before his writing career, Bernstein worked as a script reader for Columbia Pictures and as an editor for trade magazines.
