Violaine Huisman
Violaine Huisman is a French writer, translator, and cultural curator. Born in Paris in 1979, she has lived and worked in New York for over two decades. Her debut novel, "The Book of Mother" (originally published as "Fugitive parce que reine"), won the Prix Françoise Sagan and was longlisted for the International Booker Prize. Her work often explores themes of family history, motherhood, and identity, blending autofiction with historical research. She has also worked in publishing and coordinated literary series and arts festivals.
