Anita Loos

Anita Loos was an American actress, novelist, playwright, and screenwriter, best known for her 1925 comic novel, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She was a pioneer in Hollywood, becoming the first female staff screenwriter in 1912. Her work often featured witty dialogue and critiqued societal norms, with themes of money, class, and sex. Loos also wrote numerous screenplays for silent films and later adapted her work for stage and screen, including the musical version of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and the play Gigi.
