Laini Taylor is an American young adult fantasy author, best known for the "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" series, "Strange the Dreamer," and "Muse of Nightmares." She grew up as a military child in Europe and California, and earned an English degree from UC Berkeley. Taylor currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and daughter. She always wanted to be a writer and completed her first novel at age 35. Her work often features lyrical prose, intricate worlds, and emotionally resonant romances.
