Johan Theorin

Johan Theorin is a Swedish journalist and author, born in 1963 in Gothenburg. He is known for his dark mystery novels, often with supernatural overtones, that are primarily set on the Swedish island of Öland. Theorin's mother's family has lived on Öland for centuries, and his childhood summers spent there, filled with local folklore and ghost stories, have deeply influenced his writing. He began his career as a journalist and has also written interactive scripts for games. His debut novel, 'Echoes from the Dead,' was published in 2007 and received critical acclaim, winning awards such as Best First Mystery Novel from the Swedish Crime Writers' Academy. His works often blend crime, mystery, folklore, and psychological suspense, creating atmospheric and gripping narratives.
