Thomas King

Thomas King (born April 24, 1943) is an American-born Canadian novelist, short-story writer, essayist, screenwriter and photographer. He is best known for fiction and non-fiction that explore Indigenous/First Nations experience and storytelling across North America. His notable works include Green Grass, Running Water; The Back of the Turtle (winner of the Governor General's Award for fiction, 2014); and the non-fiction The Inconvenient Indian (RBC Taylor Prize winner). King has taught Native/Indigenous studies at several universities and has been a prominent public intellectual and broadcaster in Canada. He lives in Guelph, Ontario.
