Bram Stoker

Abraham Stoker (1847-1912) was an Irish writer, best known for his Gothic horror novel Dracula (1897). He was also a barrister, literary critic, and theatre manager. Stoker was bedridden with an illness until the age of seven, but he later became an athlete at Trinity College, Dublin. After working in civil service, he became the manager for actor Sir Henry Irving. His novel Dracula has become one of the most influential works of vampire fiction and English literature, with Count Dracula being a widely recognized fictional character.
