Parke Godwin was an American writer known for his lyrical prose, humor, and historical fantasy novels. He often placed legendary figures in realistic historical settings. His works include retellings of the Arthurian legend (the Firelord series) and the Robin Hood stories (Sherwood, Robin and the King). He also wrote satirical novels critiquing American pop culture and religion, such as "Waiting for the Galactic Bus" and "The Snake Oil Wars." Before becoming a full-time writer, Godwin had a varied career, working as an actor, radio operator, research technician, advertising man, dishwasher, and maitre d' hotel. His short story "Influencing the Hell Out of Time and Teresa Golowitz" was adapted for "The Twilight Zone."
