Robert William Goddard (born 13 November 1954) is an English novelist best known for intricately plotted mystery and thriller novels that often include historical elements and unexpected twists. He read history at Peterhouse, Cambridge, worked in journalism and education, and later became a full-time writer. His novels have been widely translated and adapted for radio and television.
