William W. Johnstone was an American author known for his Western, horror, and survivalist novels. He wrote nearly 300 books, often in series such as 'Mountain Man,' 'The First Mountain Man,' 'Ashes,' and 'Eagles.' His niece, J.A. Johnstone, learned writing from him and has continued his series after his death. She worked as his assistant, typist, researcher, and fact-checker. Their collaborations often feature Western and military fiction.
