J. A. Jance
Judith Ann Jance (born October 27, 1944) is an American bestselling author best known for her mystery series featuring J.P. Beaumont, Joanna Brady, and Ali Reynolds. Raised in Bisbee, Arizona, she worked as a teacher and librarian before becoming a full-time writer. She has published numerous novels and novellas since the 1980s and received The Strand Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. She divides her time between Arizona and the Seattle area.
