Janwillem van de Wetering

Janwillem van de Wetering was a Dutch author, businessman, and adventurer known for his detective fiction, children's books, and works on Zen philosophy. His most popular creations were the Amsterdam police detectives Grijpstra and de Gier. Van de Wetering's writing was influenced by his diverse life experiences, including living in various countries, studying Zen Buddhism in Japan, and serving as a reserve police officer in Amsterdam. His novels often captured the atmosphere of Amsterdam and explored philosophical and spiritual themes, blending humor with social commentary. Some of his works have been adapted into films and television series.
