Trevor Ferguson (born November 11, 1947) is a Canadian novelist and playwright who also writes crime fiction under the pen name John Farrow. Raised in Montreal, he published his first novel in 1977 and has written literary novels and a popular series of police procedurals featuring detective Émile Cinq‑Mars. His John Farrow novels (City of Ice, Ice Lake, River City and later entries) have been widely published and translated; he has received critical praise in Canada and abroad.
