Barbara Hambly

Barbara Hambly (born August 28, 1951) is an American novelist and screenwriter best known for work across fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction and mystery. She is the author of the Benjamin January historical mystery series (beginning with A Free Man of Color) and numerous fantasy and science fiction novels, including Those Who Hunt the Night and The Time of the Dark. Hambly has also written tie-in novels for Star Wars and Star Trek and has received awards including a Locus Award and the Lord Ruthven Award.
