Bruce Bethke

Bruce Raymond Bethke (born April 1955) is an American science fiction author best known for his 1983 short story "Cyberpunk," which popularized the term for the cyberpunk subgenre. He is the author of novels including Maverick and Headcrash; Headcrash won the Philip K. Dick Award. Bethke has also worked as a software developer and has been active in small-press/online SF publishing (including the anthology series Stupefying Stories).
