Benjamin William "Ben" Bova (November 8, 1932 – November 29, 2020) was an American science fiction author, editor, and science writer. Over a career spanning six decades he wrote more than 120 works of science fiction and nonfiction, served as editor of Analog Science Fiction and Fact and editorial director of Omni, and held leadership roles in the National Space Society and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. He was known for hard–science-fiction that emphasized space exploration and the impacts of technology on society.
