Clive Staples Lewis (1898–1963) was a prolific British author, literary scholar, and Anglican lay theologian. Born in Belfast, Ireland, he spent much of his academic career at Oxford and Cambridge. He is best known for his classic children's fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as his influential works of Christian apologetics such as Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters. A member of the literary group known as the Inklings, his work often explored themes of faith, morality, and mythology.
