Antony G. N. Flew

Antony Garrard Newton Flew (1923–2010) was an English analytic philosopher best known for his work in the philosophy of religion and for defending atheism for much of his career before later describing himself as a deist. He published widely on topics including the presumption of atheism, falsification in theology, and philosophy of belief, and taught at Oxford, Aberdeen, Keele, Reading, and York (Canada). His later years drew attention with the coauthored book There Is a God (2007/2008).
