Angie Sage is an English author of children's literature, known for the "Septimus Heap" series, the "TodHunter Moon" trilogy, and the "Araminta Spook" series. She was born in London and grew up in the Thames Valley, London, and Kent. Her father worked in publishing and would bring home blank books, which she would fill with pictures and stories. Sage initially studied medicine but then switched to art school in Leicester to study graphic design and illustration. She began her career illustrating books before progressing to writing. She has two daughters, Laurie and Lois, and lives in Cornwall in the west of England. Sage enjoys sailing and has a boat named Muriel, which is featured in her books. Her writing is often inspired by the history and atmosphere of the west of England.
