William Goldman
William Goldman (1931–2018) was an American novelist, playwright and screenwriter best known for his novels The Princess Bride and Marathon Man and for his Oscar-winning screenplays, including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and All the President's Men. He worked widely in Hollywood as a writer and script doctor, published memoirs and essays on the film industry, and influenced generations of screenwriters.
