Heather O'Neill is a Canadian novelist, poet, short-story writer, screenwriter, and journalist born in Montreal, Quebec. Known for her evocative and imaginative prose, her debut novel, 'Lullabies for Little Criminals' (2006), became an international bestseller and won the Canada Reads competition. She has since authored several acclaimed works, including 'The Girl Who Was Saturday Night' and 'The Lonely Hearts Hotel', and has been shortlisted for numerous prestigious awards, including the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Orange Prize for Fiction.
