Patrick Cottrell
Patrick Cottrell (born Patty Yumi Cottrell in 1981) is an American writer and educator. Born in South Korea and adopted into a family in the Midwestern United States, he was raised in Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Milwaukee. He is the author of the novel 'Sorry to Disrupt the Peace' (2017), which explores themes of identity, grief, and adoption. Cottrell, who came out as transgender in 2021, teaches at the University of Denver and has received a Whiting Award for his fiction.
