Eric Ambler
Eric Ambler was a British author and screenwriter widely regarded as the father of the modern spy novel. He transformed the espionage genre by introducing realistic, morally complex narratives featuring ordinary protagonists thrust into international intrigue, moving away from the simplistic heroics of earlier spy fiction.
