Eden Robinson (born January 19, 1968) is an Indigenous Canadian author and member of the Haisla and Heiltsuk First Nations. Raised in Kitamaat Village, British Columbia, she is best known for her dark, Gothic-inflected fiction that blends Indigenous storytelling, magical realism and contemporary life on the Northwest Coast. Her debut collection Traplines won the Winifred Holtby Prize; her novel Monkey Beach (2000) received wide critical acclaim and won the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize; later works include the Trickster trilogy beginning with Son of a Trickster. Robinson has received numerous honours including a Writers' Trust Fellowship and shortlistings for major Canadian prizes.
