Yaa Gyasi
Yaa Gyasi is a Ghanaian-American novelist known for her critically acclaimed debut novel, Homegoing (2016), and her second novel, Transcendent Kingdom (2020). Born in Mampong, Ghana, she moved to the United States at age two and was raised in Huntsville, Alabama. Her work frequently explores themes of lineage, generational trauma, the immigrant experience, and Black and African identities.
