Padma Viswanathan

Padma Viswanathan is a Canadian-American novelist, playwright, journalist, and translator. Born in Nelson, British Columbia, and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, she is a professor of fiction-writing and literature in the Programs in Creative Writing and Translation at the University of Arkansas. Her work often explores themes of identity, history, and cultural change, and she is also recognized for her translations of Brazilian literature.
