Lee Child

Lee Child is the pen name of James Dover Grant (born 29 October 1954). A British thriller novelist best known for creating the Jack Reacher series, Child published his first Reacher novel, Killing Floor, in 1997 and has since become an international bestseller. Formerly a television presentation director at Granada, he began writing full-time after leaving the company in the mid-1990s. In 2020 he began co-authoring Reacher novels with his younger brother Andrew Grant (who writes as Andrew Child) as part of a planned handover of the series. Child has won awards for his debut and subsequent work, and was appointed CBE for services to literature.
