Nelson DeMille, Alex DeMille
Nelson DeMille (August 23, 1943 – September 17, 2024) was an American author of action-adventure and suspense novels. He was a combat-decorated U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. His novels often featured themes of espionage, military action, and crime, and were known for their suspenseful plots, engaging characters, and often humorous and sarcastic banter. He co-authored several books with his son, Alex DeMille, who is also a filmmaker and novelist. Alex DeMille grew up on Long Island, received a BA from Yale University and an MFA in film directing from UCLA. His films have received acclaim at festivals worldwide. Together, Nelson and Alex DeMille wrote the New York Times bestsellers "The Deserter," "Blood Lines," and "The Tin Men."
