Phoebe Gilman
Phoebe Gilman was a Canadian-American children's book author and illustrator, known for her whimsical style and stories featuring strong female characters. Born in New York City, she later lived in Europe and Israel before settling in Canada in 1972. She taught art at the Ontario College of Art and drew inspiration for her books from her own life and family. Her notable works include "The Balloon Tree," the "Jillian Jiggs" series, and the award-winning "Something from Nothing." Gilman passed away in 2002.
