Dr. Werner Keller

Werner Keller was a German civil servant, journalist, nonfiction author, and anti-Nazi resistance fighter. He studied engineering, medicine, and jurisprudence, earning a doctorate in law in 1933. During the Nazi regime, he worked in Albert Speer's Ministry of Armaments, where he saved the lives of many Jews. In 1945, he organized an anti-Nazi resistance group and briefly operated a pirate radio station. He was sentenced to death but was liberated by American troops before his execution. After the war, Keller worked as a journalist and science writer, gaining international fame for his 1955 book, 'The Bible as History,' which correlated biblical narratives with archaeological findings. His work has been translated into over 20 languages.
