Marjorie Anderson holds a Ph.D. in literature and taught for twenty years in the English Department and Faculty of Management at the University of Manitoba. She received the University's Award for Excellence in Teaching and participated in international programs, including an MBA program in the Czech Republic. Currently, she works as a communication consultant and professional editor through her company, Wordwise. Anderson is the seventh of eight children born to Icelandic-Canadian fishers and storytellers. She is married and lives in Winnipeg with her husband, Gary, and they have four daughters and seven grandchildren. Anderson collaborated with Carol Shields on the first two "Dropped Threads" anthologies, which explore topics women often don't discuss. The "Dropped Threads" books became national bestsellers and are popular choices for book clubs.
