Aaron Allston
Aaron Dale Allston was an American game designer and author of many science fiction books, notably Star Wars novels. His works as a game designer include game supplements for role-playing games, several of which served to establish the basis for products and subsequent development of TSR's Dungeons & Dragons game setting Mystara. His later works as a novelist include those of the X-Wing series, the New Jedi Order series, the Legacy of the Force series, and the Fate of the Jedi series. He also wrote tie-ins for Terminator and several roleplaying game settings. Allston also helped write the manual for the original Wing Commander, "Claw Marks," as well as the Dungeons & Dragons Rules Cyclopedia. He is also known for extensive work on the Champions role-playing game, including the award-winning supplement "Strike Force." Among his own non-tie-in works, possibly the best-known is Doc Sidhe, which might be described as "Doc Savage with Elves."
