Robert Leslie Conly (1918–1973), better known by his pen name Robert C. O'Brien, was an American author and editor best known for his children's and young-adult fiction. He worked as an editor and writer and gained wide recognition for novels such as Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH and Z for Zachariah. His work often blended adventure, post-apocalyptic and speculative elements with thoughtful character-driven storytelling.
