Manil Suri
Manil Suri (born 1959) is an Indian–American mathematician and novelist. Born in Bombay (Mumbai), he is a professor of mathematics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the author of a trilogy of novels named for Hindu gods — The Death of Vishnu, The Age of Shiva, and The City of Devi — as well as the nonfiction book The Big Bang of Numbers. His debut novel, The Death of Vishnu, was longlisted for the Booker Prize and won the Barnes & Noble Discover Award; his work has been shortlisted for several major prizes and translated into multiple languages.
