William Wallace Johnstone (October 28, 1938 – February 8, 2004) was an American novelist best known for his prolific output of Westerns, survivalist fiction, horror and post-apocalyptic novels. Born and raised in southern Missouri, he wrote nearly two hundred books over his career, creating series such as The Last Mountain Man and Eagles. After his death, the Johnstone legacy has been continued by J.A. Johnstone (credited on later works).
