Ben Philippe

Ben Philippe is a Haitian-Canadian novelist and screenwriter. Born in Haiti and raised in Montreal, he holds a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.F.A. from the Michener Center for Writers. Philippe is the author of the YA novel The Field Guide to the North American Teenager (published January 8, 2019) and other works including Charming as a Verb and the memoir Sure, I'll Be Your Black Friend. He has written for publications such as Vanity Fair and The Guardian, writes for television, and has received the 2020 William C. Morris Award.
